American Music Awards: The Best, Boldest and Craziest Red Carpet Looks of All Time

Such style statements! Ahead of the 2022 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 20, we’re taking a look back at some of the wildest, boldest and best looks ever worn to the awards show.
The AMAs started back in 1971 and since then we’ve seen celebs walk the red carpet in some of the most unforgettable fashion ever. After all, it is the awards show that gave Us the infamous Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake matching Canadian tuxedo outfits. Almost 20 years later and people are still bringing it up. Heck, Katy Perry and Riff Raff paid homage to the iconic denim-on-denim looks at the 2014 VMAS!
But besides this, there’s been tons of other standouts looks. In 1985 alone, Tina Turner turned heads in a whimsical minidress while Madonna was her peak Madonna-ness in a sexy black dress with matching gloves and lots of layered chain necklaces.
Mariah Carey took home the awards for Female Artist in the Soul/ R&B category dazzling in a plunging studded minidress with sheer stockings that was just so early ’90s. And in 2016, Chrissy Teigen slayed in a barely-there dress with a high-slit being held together by a single pin.
To see these and many more bold looks stars wore to the AMAs over the years, keep scrolling!
