Around 100 people were forced to evacuate an apartment building in Sydney’s west on Saturday due to a fire breaking out in the stairwell.
Firefighters found a mattress that had been set alight just after 1am.
Residents were able to return inside the building an hour later.
No injuries have been reported and the fire is being treated as suspicious.
