Horrror crash claims four lives in regional Victoria after driver loses control and car slams into tree
Four women are dead and a fifth has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a horror crash at Bochara, three and a half hours east of Melbourne on Saturday morning.
Emergency crews were called to Wannon-Nigretta Road at abut 9:30 following reports a driver lost control and slammed into a tree.
The four women who died at the scene are yet to be identified, while a fifth woman travelling in the car has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the cause of the crash and the area has been cordoned off.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson has confirmed the teenage girl is in a critical condition and has been airlifted to Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital with upper body injuries.
