Severe storms hit parts of southeast Queensland

Multiple storms affecting central and south-eastern parts of Queensland have brought hail stones the size of cricket balls, leaving thousands without power.

Heavy storms impacted the Rockhampton region with 49 millimetres of rain recorded in just half an hour.

Thunderstorms and strong winds were recorded in Brisbane.

In total, more than 6,000 homes are without power.
